Keeping a Prayer Journal

How can you stay motivated to continue praying for workers and their ministries?

One way is to keep a prayer journal, which is key to seeing God move over long periods of time.

So grab a journal and begin documenting the prayer requests your worker sends you. Write out your prayers and any verses you think of as you take their requests to the Lord. Also write down the ways God answers these prayer requests.

Make sure to record the date of every request and answered prayer. By God’s grace, you’ll begin to develop a clearer picture of how the Holy Spirit is moving over time through your worker—because of your prayer support.

Here are some prayer requests to get you started journaling:

  • Pray for the Kingdom to grow among the people group your worker is trying to reach.
  • Ask for God’s favor upon your worker’s ministry.
  • Pray for your worker’s health and for God’s protection over his or her family.
  • Lift up their financial needs and pray for abundant blessing.
  • Ask God to help your worker make new strides in learning the local language.
  • Pray for new contacts with men and women who are hungry to learn more about Jesus Christ.
